Current Laws in Force
Eyre Land Principality |
Preamble:
Eyre Land Principality (also "ERL"
or "ELP") was founded as the first modern Natural
Law State. Nation states and city-states have existed in this
form throughout human history. A Natural Law State is the
most successful model for state organization for peoples existing
in a fragile environment.
External Affairs Act
The External Relations Act places
Eyre Land into the international order of trade, cultural,
diplomatic and military order placed in effect, and modified by
the United
Nations since 1945.
- ERL wishes to pursue a strict policy of
non-interference with the internal affairs of states that are directly
on its international borders.
- ERL may interfere with the internal and
external affairs of states far beyond its frontier - providing that
there is a gap of at least 500 Km of international waters, providing a
threat to security can be proven to exist between ERL and state in
question.
- ERL may grant or withdraw diplomatic
recognition from any external state (except on its immediate borders)
as is deemed necessary by diplomatic protocol, however, before doing so
it must take all measures to guarantee a peaceful relationship.
- ERL grants its citizens the right to exercise
diplomatic status (to carry out the external affairs of ERL) where
these rights are obtained from the chief administrator of ERL on a fee
based scale; this scale may be waved in times of international
diplomatic crisis so as to seek peace.
- However, this privilege of exercising
diplomacy may not be passed on nor granted to any close relatives. This
is necessary to maintain loyalty and continuity of the diplomatic corps.
Internal Affairs Act
The internal affairs act organizes the
state internally, where no internal act must in any way change
the external affairs of the state.
- ERL will issue currency for use of its
citizens to use inside and outside of national borders.
- ERL will also provide basic telecommunications
services to give its citizens access to the global communications
infrastructure.
- ERL will not interfere in the transmissions of
these communications, so as to comply UN directives on citizen privacy.
- ERL will pursue a state communications policy
fully in line with ITU & IEEE standards and technical directives.
